Javuarisi payasam or sagu payasam



Javuarisi payasam or sagu payasam


Step 1: take 1cup of sagu or jauvarisi and wash it clean.

Step 2:  add 2 cups of milk and 1 cup of water to jauvarsi or sagu and pressure cook it for 2 whistles .Now the sagu must have become soft and doubled in size.

Step 3: heat a sauce pan, add those pressure cooked sagu and add 1 cup of milk to it ,mix well and cook it for 10 minutes in lower heat/flame.


Step 4: Add 1 cup of sugar, 1 spoon of cardamom powder and mix well, again cook for 2 minutes..


Step 5: Now heat another pan, add ghee, fry some cashew nuts and dry grapes and add it to the mixture and mix well.

Step 6: serve hot or cool …

(You can also add ½ cup of condensed milk (milk maid) to this recipe to get creamy consistency. If you are going to add condensed milk then reduce the sugar measurement to ½ cup because condensed milk will have sweetness in it)
