Parupu thalipu
Parupu thalipu is often done by my MIL. She will
make it very best and I learned it from her..Now it became my favorite dish..
Let me explain by step by step pictures to be very clear..
It is very easy dish I call It as tamarind free
sambar …lol ….
Method:
Step 1: Chop
and keep handy, the below ingredients:
Garlic
Shallots
Green chilli
Cumin seeds
Mustard seeds
Turmeric powder
Coriander powder
Curry leaves
Step 2: pressure cook 1 cup of toor dal by adding 1
garlic clove, 1/2 spoon of cumin seeds and ¼ spoon of turmeric powder. Nicely smash
it and keep it aside.
Step 3: heat
kadai or a pan add 1 spoon of oil ,add mustard seeds ,add cumin seeds, curry
leaves , chopped garlic cloves and sauté well
Step 4: add chopped shallots (chinna vengayam )and sauté
until raw smell goes from it .and add pinch of hing powder.
Step 5: Now add pressure cooked dal and sauté well
and add ¼ spoons of sambar powder and salt as needed, sauté and cook for 5
minutes in low flame and switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves

Now mix it with plain rice and enjoy the taste ...
