BABY FOOD
It's safer for your baby if you wait until she's six months old to introduce her to solids because
The Ministry of Health recommends starting solid food after your baby turns six months. Till then exclusive breastfeeding is all the nourishment your baby needs. After six months, breastmilk or formula milk alone doesn't provide your baby with enough nutrients, in particular iron so other foods are needed.

I have posted some varieties of home made food for your baby.These homemade baby food recipes are simple to cook and healthy for your baby.
 1.   First solid food for baby can be apple.
Method to feed apple to your baby,
• Wash and peel the outer skin of the apple.
• Pressure cook apple for 2 whistles.
• Remove from pressure cooker. Let it come to room temperature .
• Now grind wel as a paste by adding pinch of sugar or panakalkandu (rock candy).
• Transfer to a serving bowl.
• Feed your baby.
2. finger millet or ragi kanchi
NEEDED:
Ragi Flour / Finger Millet Flour - 1/2 cup
Water - 2 cups
 Boiled Milk - 1 cup.
Sugar / Palm Sugar.- 2 spoons
METHOD:
  • Take a sause pan, add 1/2 cup of ragi.
  • pour  some water. keep mixing so no lumps are formed .
  • pour the balance water in that 2 cups.mix well.
  • now place the pan on the flame.
  • Cook this for 5 to 7 mins till the malt is thick and cooked.keep mixing.
  • add sugar or palm sugar.
  • remove from heat.Let it turn warm and  Add more milk if needed, serve to your baby.

YELLOW PUMPKIN CURD RICE


YELLOW PUMPKIN CURD RICE( for baby above 8 months)
Curd rice is very good for your baby, it helps to improves digestion, Eating pumpkin is good for the heart, The fiber, potassium and vitamin C content in pumpkin all support heart health. support eye health and prevent degenerative damage. Pumpkins are high in both vitamin C and beta-carotene offer an immunity boost from their powerful combination of nutrients. So try giving yellow pumpkin curd rice to your little one .
Needed :
2 to3 small pieces of pumpkins
Salt to taste
Pinch of sambar powder
Curd 3 spoons, milk 3 spoons
Boiled Rice ½ cup
Method:
• Pressure cook pumpkin pieces with little salt and pinch of sambar powder. Keep it aside.
• In a blender, add curd, rice, milk, pressure cooked pumpkin pieces, pinch of salt and grind coarsely.
• Now yellow pumpkin curd rice is ready.
• Transfer it to a serving bowl and feed your little one.

RASAM SADHAM FOR BABY ABOVE 8 MONTHS


BABY’S RASAM SADHAM
Feeding rasam is very good for babies, rasam can be given to your baby from 8 months onwards . It will be a tough time for parents especially when our kids get cold or cough. So feeding rasam help in speedy recovery and also boost immunity.Rasam will be tasty for their mouth, when they get cold or cough.

Now lets see how to prepare ,easy rasam for babies ,
Heat bowl with one cup of water, add one finely grinded tomato ,pinch of turmeric powder,2 smashed garlic cloves to it ,let it cook for 10 mins ,
Now add tamarind water 1 cup,1/2 cup of pressure cooked toor dal water, boil well. Add pinch of sambar powder, add grinded rasam powder (1 spoon cumin , ½ spoon pepper , 1 spoon coriander,2 garlic cloves grind coarsely )  to the rasam. Add salt and mix well.
Simple baby rasam is ready.
To feed your baby:
Take a blender add cooked rice ,rasam, 2 spoons of pressure cooked toor dal,pinch of salt and blend well
Transfer it to the baby’s serving bowl and add 1 spoon of ghee and mix well.
Now feed your baby the healthy RASAM SADHAM
