BABY FOOD
It's safer for your baby if you wait until she's six months old to introduce her to solids because
The
Ministry of Health recommends starting solid food after your baby turns
six months. Till then exclusive breastfeeding is all the nourishment
your baby needs. After six months, breastmilk or formula milk alone
doesn't provide your baby with enough nutrients, in particular iron so
other foods are needed.
I
have posted some varieties of home made food for your baby.These
homemade baby food recipes are simple to cook and healthy for your baby.
1. First solid food for baby can be apple.
Method to feed apple to your baby,• Wash and peel the outer skin of the apple.
• Pressure cook apple for 2 whistles.
• Remove from pressure cooker. Let it come to room temperature .
• Now grind wel as a paste by adding pinch of sugar or panakalkandu (rock candy).
• Transfer to a serving bowl.
• Feed your baby.
2. finger millet or ragi kanchi
NEEDED:
Ragi Flour / Finger Millet Flour - 1/2 cup
Water - 2 cups
Boiled Milk - 1 cup.
Sugar / Palm Sugar.- 2 spoons
METHOD:
- Take a sause pan, add 1/2 cup of ragi.
- pour some water. keep mixing so no lumps are formed .
- pour the balance water in that 2 cups.mix well.
- now place the pan on the flame.
- Cook this for 5 to 7 mins till the malt is thick and cooked.keep mixing.
- add sugar or palm sugar.
- remove from heat.Let it turn warm and Add more milk if needed, serve to your baby.
