Aval upma (Using lemon)
Needed :
Step 1: take 2 cups of aval
or flattened rice (medium size) .wash and drain.
Step 2: add ¼ spoon of
turmeric powder,1 spoon of sambar powder (if there is no sambar powder ,then add
½ spoon of chili powder instead),add salt as needed, add three squeezed lemon
juice and mix well with aval or flattened rice. And keep it aside.
Step 3: Heat oil, add
mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal, curry leaves, 2 chopped green chilli,3 red
chilli, chopped ginger and sauté well
for 1 minute.
Step 4: add 3 chopped onions and sauté well until
onions becomes golden brown.
Step 5: add 1boiled /chopped
potato to it and mix well. And add those aval mixed with lemon juice and sauté well
for 2 minutes.
Step 6: cover with a lid and
cook for 5 to 7 minutes in a low flame. And add ½ cup of boiled ground nut and
mix well.
Step 7: cook for another 2 mins in
medium flame and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
